Last updated: 10 June 2026Who we are
Zegaware Ltd ("Zegaware", "we", "us") is a software engineering company registered in England and Wales under company number 12552942. Registered office: 18 St Cross Street, London EC1N 8UN, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
What we collect and why
We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us:
- Enquiry forms. Your name, work email address, optional links you share and the content of your message. We use these solely to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to deliver the service you have asked for.
- Email. If you contact us directly, we hold the correspondence for the same purposes.
- Billing details. If you become a client, the information required to issue an invoice: your name or company name, billing address and VAT details where applicable.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you initiate, and the performance of a contract where you engage our services. We do not buy contact lists.
Marketing
We send marketing email only if you have explicitly asked for it, and every message includes a way to opt out. You can also withdraw consent at any time through the contact form, and we will stop immediately.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. When you first visit, a banner asks you to choose between essential cookies only and accepting all. We use:
- Essential. Required for the website to function, including remembering the choice you make in the cookie banner. These are always on. Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.
- Analytics. Set only if you choose "Accept all". They help us understand, anonymously, how the website is used so we can improve it.
We do not use advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Your browser also lets you block or delete cookies; allaboutcookies.org explains how, though some essential features may stop working without them.
Client code and audit material
Code shared with us for an audit or engagement is handled under a separate non-disclosure agreement and engagement contract. In summary: access is read-only and limited to the engineers on your engagement, we do not train any tools on your code, we work inside your repository host rather than taking copies wherever practical, and access is revoked when the engagement ends.
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers needed to run this website and our business (such as email and hosting providers), under contracts that protect it.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted. Client records are kept while you use our services; once an engagement ends, we delete the data we no longer need, keeping only what tax and company law require us to retain.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict the use of your personal information, to object to our processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, use the contact form. We respond within one month, and exercising your rights costs nothing. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Where this website links to other websites, this policy applies only to ours. If you follow a link elsewhere, read that site's privacy policy.
